I teach English Language Arts in a large Midwestern Middle School. I am in my fifth year of teaching, and I am always striving to improve my teaching by learning new tools and developing my skills. I graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a degree in Engish, and and attending Northwest Missouri University for a Masters Degree in Education and Curriculum. I took my teaching certification online through the American Board of Certification for Teacher Excellence.

In some ways, I am an introvert! I enjoy reading all types of literature, from science fiction to mysteries. I am an animal lover, with a dog, two cats and two African dwarf frogs in my menagerie. I have a twelve-year-old son, and I enjoy playing board games and watching movies with him.

I enjoy travel, and like to learn about the history and culture of places that I visit. Last weekend, we enjoyed visiting the Cahokia Mounds in Illinois, and viewing the visitor’s center. In the summer, my son and I will go anywhere there is a beach!
